Go / Golang

Protect your Go applications from reverse engineering

Post-compilation binary protection for Go. Code virtualization, string encryption, and anti-analysis defenses that work on any compiled Go executable.

The Problem

Garble is not enough

GoStringUngarbler

Open-source tools like GoStringUngarbler automatically reverse Garble's string obfuscation. Your encrypted strings are recovered in seconds.

GoResolver

GoResolver reconstructs function signatures from stripped Go binaries. Even with Garble, your internal API structure is fully visible.

pclntab Exposure

Go embeds a rich metadata table (pclntab) in every binary. It contains function names, source file paths, and line numbers. Garble renames them but the structure remains intact.

The Solution

Binary-level hardening after compilation

ChaosProtector works after compilation and can virtualize selected compatible functions, obfuscate instructions, reduce imports and add integrity or runtime checks. It does not remove every Go metadata structure, and no client-side protection is irreversible; use the coverage report and test the output against your threat model.

How It Works

Three steps. No source changes.

1

Build your Go binary

Compile with go build as you normally would. No source code changes needed. No special flags.

2

Run ChaosProtector

Open the GUI or use the CLI. Select your .exe, pick the functions to protect, and choose your protection level.

3

Test, then ship

Exercise startup, goroutines, panic paths, plugins and updates against the protected PE before distribution.

Features

Everything you need to protect Go binaries

🔒

Code Virtualization

Translates selected compatible native functions into ChaosProtector VM bytecode. Functions that cannot preserve Go runtime or unwind semantics are reported and left native.

🔐

String Encryption

Encrypts supported referenced strings in the PE image. Go metadata and unsupported string layouts can remain visible, and secrets still belong on a server.

🛡

Anti-Debug

Adds base debugger-state checks at startup; Pro adds advanced hook, anti-dump and instrumentation checks. These are hardening layers, not an absolute block.

💥

Anti-Disassembly

Adds a jump-chain stress pattern intended to hinder auto-analysis in older IDA versions. Results vary with the analysis tool and version.

✅

Integrity Check

Checks configured code regions and image invariants at runtime. Covered modifications are detected, but this is not a universal anti-tamper guarantee.

📦

Import Protection

Reduces supported imports to a bootstrap and restores them through a PEB-based runtime resolver. Required bootstrap imports and runtime calls remain observable.
